I am looking for an HD satellite receiver that has twin tuners and internal storage. Humax appear to make one, the HUMAX ICORD HD, but I can only find it for sale in Germany.
Has anyone used one of these in the UK or does anyone know of any other receiver that would match.
I am used to using a twin tuner freeview PVR but, having moved to Lyme Regis, barely have a terrestial signal let alone freeview. So, I need to go satellite.

Although the receiver would probably receive FTA uk channels, recording would be a problem. SKY own the EPG so no-one except SKY has the software to utilise it.
When (if) Freesat (not 'Freesat from SKY') launches you might stand a chance - in the meantime it's SKY+ and $$$ - #3The Humax ICORD is for the Middle East market - the last time I looked. It may have well spread to Germany where they are big on satellite rather than terrestrial TV.
There are other Humax satellite receivers for this German market as well as the UK market and this will be supported by Humax.
The satellite PVR market is huge, so you have a very wide choice of boxes. Here are some suggestions: Technomate, Dreambox, Reelbox in various guises including HD versions...
I see there is development on the Lyngbox too... at least we have a picture of the backside of it now - #4Thanks for your replies.
There really don't seem to be many, if any, HD satellite receivers that are PVRs. Is the Dreambox 8000 available? I can't see it for sale anywhere.
The Lyngbox looks ideal; I have sent them a message asking if they know when it will be available in the UK. - #5There's also a new Topfield one - the TF7700HD PVR; I think it's shipping now, but can't be 100% certain.
But whatever brand you go for, it might be worth waiting a while, until the BBC Freesat specs are finalised, to make sure that the kit you buy works with that. It should - but if you're going to buy what will be a premium product anyway, it may be prudent to ensure it'll support whatever bells and whistles the UK satellite service offers. - #6Thanks for your replies.

Technomate 6800 HD PVR
Dreambox 8000 HD (out 2008)
Reelbox Avantgarde

Yes wait until (if?) FreeSat starts, no point buying an expensive receiver now that won't work properly on FreeSat. - #8The other thing to note is that the terrestrial signal switches off in your area by June 2009, so you should get better results from then, although by the looks of it only 4 channels will be good and 50 variable.
What about Humax iCord+ HD can any one help me? Discussion in 'Satellite TV, Sky TV & FreeSat' started by sx40hs, Apr 6. And the members there have developed a similar custom firmware with web interface for the German iCord HD as now exists for the British Foxsat HDR: Startseite - iCordForum. So things like looking at the Humax firmware.
